A big chunk of About Books on VoicePrint this Saturday, April 23, is on author and actor Miriam Toews [teyvz] and her latest novel, Irma Voth. Listen online or on (Canadian) cable. See comment below for sources and notes.

Update: Listen now to the archived recording.

About Books – on VoicePrint – is a half-hour program of book news, book reviews and author profiles broadcast in Canada on Saturdays, in most places at 7:30pm local time.

Diane Lepawsky covers nonfiction one week, and I cover fiction the next week. Diane normally would be covering nonfiction this Saturday but isn’t. She returns to About Books next week, and I cover fiction again the week after that, and then we take turn and turn about, as before.

VoicePrint programming is “must-carry” for any digital cable service in Canada. Shaw carries it in Vancouver as channel 889 in its Digital Basic package.

Anyone can listen online at four different times. Tweets from March 19 link to relevant pages on the VoicePrint website and are copied here:

Zocalo is pronounced incorrectly in this recording. The stress should be on the first syllable:

    zocalo [SAW-kah-law, Eng. SOH-kah-loh]
